Second Opinion Chimneys and Construction was founded by co-owners Matthew Colon and Otis Schell, two industry professionals who built successful independent companies. Matthew brings more than 10 years of experience, while Otis contributes over 25 years of hands-on expertise.

After partnering on a major multi-million-dollar project, they combined their knowledge, resources, and commitment to quality. Today, the company brings integrity, clear communication, and attention to detail to every residential and commercial project.

WHY WE'RE CALLED SECOND OPINION

Between the two of us, we've climbed onto a lot of roofs.

And over the years we kept hearing the same thing from homeowners: "Another company told me I need a whole new chimney. Do I?"

Sometimes the answer was yes. Often it wasn't. A cracked crown had been written up as a full rebuild. A leak blamed on the chimney turned out to be a rusted chase cover. A homeowner was ready to spend thousands on work their house didn't need.

That's why we named the company Second Opinion. It's a promise built into every visit: we tell you what we see, show you photos, and recommend only what your home actually needs. If your chimney is in good shape, we'll say so and be on our way. If it needs work, you'll understand exactly why before you spend a dollar.
